Two terracotta sculptures depicting the neck and head, the ox and the donkey, of a nativity scene. The two sculptures are made of terracotta entirely by hand, finished in stick and colour. The ox is ideally placed on the right and the donkey on the left of the child. Remarkable executive quality and attention to detail. The two sculptures were applied through the holes to supports which were then hidden by other elements of the nativity scene. Naples, Italy, second half of the 19th century.
