System walking stick, with a defense function. The Víctor Sarasqueta factory, Cortaberría y Cía., the main manufacturer of these weapons was active in Eibar, Spain, between 1899 and 1906, and it is probable that the cause of its closure was the Royal Decree of September 28, 1907. Said decree, issued by the then Minister of the Interior, Mr. La Cierva, established a ban on the use and manufacture of hunting walking sticks as a weapon that could be used in attacks. A camouflaged rifle: the grip was chromed (where all the firing mechanisms are housed), in imitation of silver, and the barrel was painted black or wood-coloured, thus making it very difficult to differentiate it from a normal stick. The barrel integrates a 12-gauge single-shot rifle. Its maneuverability was very simple: the barrel was rotated about 90º and the fist was pulled back, leaving the chamber open and ready to insert the cartridge. Then it was closed and turned to rotate the barrel to its initial position. A spring built into the fist was pulled, which pulled the trigger out of its hiding place, leaving the barrel ready for use. Of course, before doing this, the ferrule had to be removed from the end of the barrel to prevent it from being fired with the pellets. There are few sticks that still have the original tips, as in our case. A fork joined to the push rod was used for the extraction of the shell. It could be used for personal defense, carrying it like another stick, or for hunting. The stock, made of wood, is telescopic and has a screw in the lower part which adapted its length according to need. It also bears the inscription “EGOKIA System Invention Privilege”.
