Rare anatomical engraving on paper, dedicated to angiology, a medical specialty reserved for the study of the circulatory system and the lymphatic system, i.e. the veins, arteries and lymphatic vessels. Taken from the complete treatise on the anatomy of man, by Bourgery, Jean Baptiste Marc (1797-1849). The artist of the illustrations was Nicolas-Henry Jacob (1782-1871), a pupil of the neoclassical painter of the French Revolution Jacque-Louis David. Black lacquered fir wood frame with golden ramino wood frame. Published in Paris by C.A. Delaunay, 1835.
