Rare hunting alpine walking cane. The ferrule is made out of iron, very tall, changing its shape from circular to a narrower circle and finally to a four-sided arrow, useful both for hunting and climbing. The strolling was guarantee by its exceptional height. The whole shaft is obteined by a single piece of bamboo. The handle cames apart by a quarter-of-twist and reveals inside the tool, a knife, used to finish off the deers. Marked Solingen (german blade). The top and the two sides of the cane are decorated by medaillons depicting in relief the head of a deer surrounded by a ribbon with a motto : ‘ Quand Meme’ ( Anyway ). France half 19th century.
