Walking stick: jeweled stick, sculpted jadeite knob, depicting a duck’s head, ruby eyes, 18K gold band with rubies and ebony wood barrel. Signed. This masterpiece was created by Georges Fouquet (1862-1957), known for his Art Nouveau creations. Alphonse Fouquet, Georges’ father, founded the family business of the same name in 1860. It would last another two generations. The name Fouquet is mainly associated with the Art Nouveau and Deco periods. Often grouped with René Lalique and Lucien Gaillard, Georges Fouquet was one of France’s leading designers and makers of Art Nouveau jewelry. Paris, France circa 1900.
