Golden iron handle walking stick with acorn, Berlin, Germany 1840.
Berlin, Germany, circa 1840.
1400 EURO
A rare walking stick with gilt brass ferrule and iron tip. Hot-formed ram’s horn barrel, iron handle.
The shaft, clear, is made by putting it in a hot shape by boiling, sometimes frying and has a flexibility that suggests an aesthetic, rather than a static use. The curved handle has a golden iron band of neoclassical taste, the body that proceeds smooth in polished iron, and a still neoclassical termination that ends with an acorn. Berlin, Germany, circa 1840.
