Walking stick: Art Nouveau jeweled walking stick, gold and silver milord knob with intertwined CHARLOTTE monogram. Fruitwood shaft. Light bovine horn ferrule. Signed Philippe Wolfers (1858-1929), the Belgian designer most associated with the French form of Art Nouveau. Philippe was one of three sons of the family jewelry business, Wolfers Frères, considered one of the finest silversmiths in 19th-century Europe. In the early 1890s, he established his own workshop and until 1910 made Art Nouveau style jewelry, one of a kind. Brussels, Belgium 1900-1910.
