4000 EURO
Antique stereoscopic table viewer used in brothels, to view erotic images printed on paper for a fee. This device consists of a parallelepiped in fruit wood painted black, with the side walls covered with a perforated brass sheet with engraved floral motifs. The upper door can be opened. On the front wall we find two brass eyepieces with achromatic lenses and on the opposite wall, in correspondence with the eyepieces, there is a tilting plane where the erotic themed image was placed, inserted inside a theater with red curtains. On the sides of the parallelepiped there is a brass knob, to raise the blackout metal curtain, the other to tilt the image. The viewer rests on a round-shaped base in embossed brass with floral motifs. To make the viewer work and make the images visible, it was necessary to insert a coin from the upper wall which allowed a metal plate to be unlocked and the erotic image to be viewed. Germany late 19th century.
