An unusual feluca-shaped burl wood snuffbox, France 1800.

Briar wood snuffbox in the shape of a hat, called bicorno or feluca and was worn in military uniforms. This snuffbox was made in the early 19th century. The box is carved out of oak wood. On the front of the feluca there is a carved rosette, on the other side an oak leaf. The lid is hinged and has a primrose carved in the center, while the Valoise is ink written inside. France circa 1800.
