An oil painting on Paesina stone. The frame, made of ebonized walnut wood finished in wax, has a rectangular shape with an internal molding that flares out towards the inside to accommodate the painting. Inside, on a well-chosen table of village stone (limestone concrete – Limestone – compact and clay – clay) a genre scene which, taking advantage of the evocative veins of the stone, depicts a seascape. In the centre a sailing ship moving away in full sails and on left a moored offshore ship. On the left and right, we find smaller boats in the harbor with several buildings, and characters moving around among the rocks. Oil painting on stone. Italy, late 18th century.
