Art Nouveau walking stick: spherical hammered silver and gilt handle, with a twisted snake in relief. The body of the serpent, studded with diamond-cut sapphires and rose-cut diamond eyes, enters and exits the band until it wraps around the knob. Ebony wood shaft. Metal ferrule. Signed Georgette Agutte (1867-1922) successful painter with over 800 works created, designer of this jewel walking stick, for the jeweler George La Sache (1849-1920), designer and planner for some of the most important jewelery houses in the period of Art Nouveau, including Falize. Paris, France circa 1900.
