Walking stick: Art Nouveau jewel walking stick, smooth 925/1000 silver knob, pleasant to the touch, L-shaped with gold relief decorations, which delimit curved lines with semi-precious stones: Iolites also known as Cordierite or Dichroite, cut cabochons of different diameters. Ebony wood shaft. Metal ferrule. Signed Evald Nielsen. Designer and jeweler, the young Nielsen greatly admired the work of the older George Jensen, whose influence can be felt in Nielsen’s designs but, unlike Jensen, he designed works of his own design. He won many international awards for gold and silver jewellery, including the International Exhibition in Paris in 1937 and in New York in 1939. Copenhagen, Denmark circa 1920.
