A large central convex metal mirror, with 12 small convex metal mirrors along the edge of the round frame. These convex mirrors were called “witch mirrors” because they were believed to have magical powers, such as witches visually confused when brought into the house. In reality, placed in front of a window or door, they cast light inside the house. Mounted with round frame in gray lacquered wood. Italy circa 1870
