A large round metal mirror. This convex mirror were called “witch mirrors” because they were believed to have magic powers, such as visually confusing witches if introduced into the home. In reality, placed in front of a window or door, they cast light inside the house. Mounted in a round wooden frame, light blue color. Italy circa 1870.
